This course is based on an equivalent programme at The University of Nottingham, UK (L60 Economics and International Economics). However, it may span four years rather than three to incorporate a preliminary year that predominantly covers English language skills.

Interdisciplinary integration is implemented in the Department of International Political Science and Economics at the Faculty of International Political Science and Economics beyond the framework of traditional departments of politics and economics or existing fields of academic studies.

The international economics major is a 51-hour interdisciplinary program that combines economics, finance and international politics with a strong background in a chosen foreign language program.Students in the major receive instruction on economic structures and processes, including economic growth and productivity, unemployment and inflation, taxation and public expenditure, supply and demand, international trade and finance, as well as labor-management cooperation and competition.Other areas of study may include demand theory and estimation, production and cost theory, analysis of market structure, antitrust policy, government regulation of business, capital budgeting, inflation theory, unemployment, determination of interest rates and international economics.

The professional aim to foster senior specialized talents who master the basic theories of modern economics, especially international economics, master the basic knowledge and skills of international trade and international business, understand the present situation of international economic and trade development, and are familiar with international trade rules and practices as well as major countries’ foreign trade policies and regulations.
