The Bachelor of Arts in Business Entrepreneurship serves the Simmons College of Kentucky mission of “educating people in the urban context through strong academic and professional programs” by focusing on how one can become self-employed and or how one grow an existing business.

The Entrepreneurship concentration is offered for students who are interested in starting their own business or contributing to the success of a start-up organization. Through classroom and community experiences, students identify viable career options in entrepreneurship, expand their knowledge of the process and develop their own entrepreneurial management skills.

Entrepreneurs design, launch and run a new business from the ground up. Students of the Entrepreneurship minor learn to develop, organize and manage a business venture, develop business instincts, identify goals and learn strategies for opening a successful business.

The Entrepreneurship minor develops entrepreneurial perspectives and skills, including problem-solving, negotiation, organization, ambiguity and risk tolerance.

If you’re interested in developing innovative solutions to real problems—and bringing those solutions to those who need them—this program will help you build critical skills including analyzing consumer, community, or market needs; creating business plans; reconciling conflicting goals; prioritizing and organizing work; pitching ideas; working well on multidisciplinary teams; collaborating and communicating with outside boards and advisors.
