The objective of the course is to train and help students obtain certificates. Together with a long-term internship practice, the courses allow students to gain practical experiences and knowledge of management. The department of Sports Medicine was established in August 2003. The Kaohsiung Medical University has made a substantial commitment to being the leading Sports & Exercise Medicine educator in Taiwan. The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive and contemporary curriculum and is designed to merge medical principles and sciences to facilitate physical performance in sports. Since 2008, the department has featured a new target for future development – “health promotion” with a modern concept of sports & exercise medicine, which emphasizes custom exercises for each individual. Our course offers a full-time four-year Bachelor's degree. The curriculum focuses not only on learning the basics of medical and sports sciences but also on health care management. The basic science of sports medicine is emphasized over the first two years, such as Human Physiology, Anatomy of the Human Body, Health Management, Kinesiology, Exercise Nutrition, and First-Aid. During the final two years, the course provides excellent opportunities in practical training which can be used as a foundation to further students with an aim to either obtain professional certifications e.g. "fitness leader" and "athletic trainer", or future research work. The University has worked closely with professional sports clubs, health institutes, and hospitals, and is responsible for providing a better medical service to southern Taiwan. The course has an important role in merging the various medical disciplines to create a first-class teaching, research, and clinical environment for health promotion in Taiwan.

Nursing college originally from the department of Nursing was established in 1968. The colleges in our university were re-organized and Nursing college was established in 2018. This college includes five departments, department of Nursing, department of Long Term Care and Management, department of Health Care Administration, department of Acupressure Technology and department of Information Management. The common goals in all departments are: medical care, health service and social responsibility.

The school has been devoted to cultivating outstanding talents related to personal health. We have invested many talent database and hardware and software regarding medical testing, health care and nutrition, physical treatments and cosmetics. We have more than 65% of highly-ranked teachers. Each department has professional laboratories and complete fine experiment instruments and the first basic medical education pavilion so that the students can acquire advanced and integrated medical knowledge in practical teaching and learning environments.

In line with the national health care and biotechnology development policy, the department aims to cultivate professional knowledge such as dispensing medicines, Chinese and Western medicine manufacturing, clinical pharmacy, pharmacy management, pharmaceutical marketing, and so on. Furthermore, professional ethics, humanities, international outlook, and workplace adaption are our goals to cultivate students. The department has an excellent faculty line-up and a comprehensive internship environment that allows students to combine theory and practice.

The School of Nutrition was formally established in August 105 and is the first and only "Nutrition Academy" in the country. There are "Department of Health and Nutrition (Bachelor, Master, Part-time and Doctoral)", "Master of Food Safety", "Department of Food Safety" and "Institute of Metabolism and Obesity Science", and 2 A hospital-level research center: the "Nutrition Medicine Research Center" and the "Senior Nutrition Research Center", focusing on nutrition and health, combined with the school's medical and health professional foundation, invested in the academic fields of food safety, disease nutrition, metabolism, and obesity. The Department of Health and Nutrition in the hospital was established under the name of "Life is in health, and health is in nutrition", which clarifies the importance of health and nutrition to life. The Department of Health and Nutrition has been established in 1968 for more than 40 years. Over the years, it has nurtured many nutrition professionals. The rate of passing dietitian licenses and the proportion of nutritionists and nutrition supervisors in medical institutions ranks first in the country. The Department of Health and Nutrition advocates the rationalization of personal nutrition. From the perspective of preventive medicine, it aims to cultivate professional talents for the guidance and promotion of dietary treatment, nutrition research, nutrition education, catering management, and group meals, and hopes to nurture more professionals engaged in " Professionals of "Nutrition Application".

In the research area, the College of Nursing emphasizes research performance and academic achievement. Our faculty members have led outstanding research projects that were reported in national and international journals and conferences. Over the past 5 years, we have been awarded research grants from various national institutions. In fact, our research paper and academic presentation have a strong track record of published work in top-rated journals. These publications represent sustained and significant contributions to nursing knowledge and evidence-based nursing. Our faculty members are also often invited as editors or reviewers of these national and international journals. Moreover, the College also houses the Research Center of Active Ageing (RCAA), which is a college-leave research center, which is to serve older adults in the community as a daycare center as well as a “smart living lab” for teaching and research. We are involved in active research aiming to develop a holistic care discourse on aging society from the medical, social, cultural, and environmental perspectives. As for international collaborations, the College has maintained strong partnerships with many well-known universities and colleges in the world, as a part of the effort to build up a group of health care specialists with professional knowledge, humanity cultivation, and global competitiveness. In addition to annually hosting an international conference along with frequent mutual visits with sister schools and research collaborations, the College also encourages participation in global practicum and a joint degree in Master Program and Doctoral Program as well as overseas medical services to broaden students’ international horizon. Furthermore, the College not only has a Master’s Program in Nursing. In fact, in 2016 but it also established the Doctoral Program in Nursing, marking a milestone for the College of Nursing at Taipei Medical University.

The college of Medical Technology trains students with practical medical technology and research skills in accordance with the national medical and biotechnological developmental policies. We equip our students with lifetime learning and information management capabilities and prepare them for the globalized knowledge economy era. In the College of Medical Technology, our students will develop their enthusiasm for humanity, admiration for life and vocational ethics. The ultimate goal is to achieve an outstanding discipline that can advance humanity's health and quality of life in a physically, intellectually, and spiritually integrated way.

The Department of Psychology aims to educate and train students as professionals with the ability to communicate with others on life and work issues through both oral and written language.

The Department of Food Science aims to train future leaders in the food industry. The curriculum integrates different professional fields, including chemistry, microbiology, biology, biochemistry, and processes. The courses allow our students to contribute to a vital sector of society whose demands are on the rise. The Department is also equipped with laboratories for our students to experience the cutting-edge technologies and experiment with their ideas. We also encourage our students to pass the national certification exams and become qualified food technicians. With professional knowledge, our students can excel in food processing, manufacturing, analysis, testing, production, and management tasks easily. Our students are also capable of working in domestic and foreign research institutes and conduct research on food, chemistry, nutrition, biotechnology, or other related fields.

The Occupational Therapy (OT) program was established in 1988 as a division of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine , and the OT division became an independent school in 2000. The O.T. program is a 4-year entry-level educational program that offers a Bachelor of Science degree to the students. We enroll about fifty new students per year.

The Department aims to develop clinical nurse professionals competent and trusted by patients and their families and the public.
