The Classics Studies, Greek and Latin program is designed to provide thorough and rigorous training in ancient Greek and Latin, the principal languages and literatures of the ancient Mediterranean world and beyond. Our majors have found doors for them in a variety of fields: teaching, scholarship (including PhD work in Classics Studies, archaeology, etc.), and careers of all sorts.

In this course, we work with the Greek language, literature, artifacts, philosophy, history, and religion. Not only do students develop their own analytical skills by participating in this course; but they also understand the ways in which we as human beings give meaning to our existence through the use of symbols and complexes of symbols that come to us from ancient times.

Seeking to revitalize Western languages, New Saint Andrews has some of the world's unique undergraduate language studies.

Investigate for yourself the narratives from and about the Greco-Roman world: their literatures, mythologies, the material remains, and languages. Interrogate the puzzles that are still unsolved and unsolvable, from ancient medical treatments to gladiatorial combat.
