The Law Degree at the Porto School of the Faculty of Law of the UCP responds to the challenges facing the jurist in the 21st century, combining tradition and innovation, in order to the success of its students.

Our 4-year law with a business degree, known as an LLB or Bachelor of Law, is equivalent to a BA or BSc. This course is ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in law and wishing to understand its operation in a business environment.

Combining law with French, German or Spanish is both stimulating and a smart career move. You’ll divide your study equally between both subjects. With this BA (Honours) in Law and Languages degree, you’ll raise your legal awareness and acquire skills in legal analysis and methods. The study of a modern language opens doors to other cultures and communities and can provide a key to the global workplace. The name of your degree will reflect your chosen language (e.g. BA (Honours) Law and German).

We train law professionals, both theoretically and in practice, to enable the graduate to practice the professions to which the degree gives him access and for his subsequent specialization, providing him with critical judgment, social responsibility and autonomous work capacity and as a team for issues related to law

This program provides graduates with specific knowledge of the law and law-related skills and schools them in selected language discipline(s) and selected social sciences. The skills acquired may be applied in either the private or public sectors. The program serves as an alternative route for ultimately obtaining the LLB degree.

The Dual Degree Program in Law and Management allows to obtain in 5 years two undergraduate degrees in different but complementary areas: a Degree in Law and a Degree in Management. It is a program that results from the partnership between two schools of reference of Catholic Porto: the Faculty of Law and the Catholic Business School Porto.

Pitt-Johnstown has a solid record for placing graduates in law school. Pre-law – while not a major, minor, or series of courses – refers to anyone who wants to explore, prepare, and apply to law school. Law school requires no prerequisite courses and has no preferred majors.

The Master’s Degree Program in Single Cycle Law has a duration of five years and aims to provide students with advanced level training in the field of law, aimed at carrying out highly qualified activities in a variety of professional contexts.

The course will teach you about the sources of the law, how it is made and developed, the institutions within which that law is administered and the personnel who practice law.

Crime, justice and the workings of the law are matters that affect us all and often dominate the news. This BA (Honours) in Criminology and Law degree takes a critical and analytical view of the role and functions of the legal system and examines its relationship with crime, and harm criminal justice. You'll learn to apply research tools and access and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data on crime, victimisation and the societal responses to them.

With the Law Degree, you will acquire a deep understanding of the pillars of Law, while developing essential skills such as research, critical analysis, case resolution and argumentation, essential tools to face the challenges of the legal field.

The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law (PPL) is a coordinated programme of study culminating in the award of a BA (Philosophy, Politics and Law) degree. It offers a structured, yet flexible, programme with a focus on Philosophy and either Law or Politics or both.
