The European Law School bachelor’s programme delves into legal issues through a comparative and European perspective, examining them beyond the solutions of a single legal system. You will compare and evaluate the choices made by lawmakers’ in various legal systems, and examine how international law, EU law, and national legal systems interact. Additionally, you will explore how societal factors impact laws.

Why study this program in Groningen? The focus on European law and public international law is far greater than the focus on national legal contexts. No national law system is being taught as a general rule. This program is unique in Europe with regard to the content of the programme. It also holds a compulsory semester of law courses abroad.

This course provides you with the foundation subjects required to obtain a Qualifying Law Degree along with the opportunity to spend a year of study in one of our partner universities in Europe, gaining knowledge of other legal systems, experiencing another legal culture, enhancing your European language skills and developing international links.

The CEILS provides its students with an authentic international experience and an all-encompassing education in comparative, European, international, and transnational law. Together with other national legal systems, elements of Italian law are taught within the European, comparative, and international framework. Last but not least, CEILS students have the opportunity to apply for internship programs in international institutions.

The Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and the European Union at Universidad CEU San Pablo trains you in the competences and skills needed to develop your profile in a European and international dimension, as well as to understand and solve problems related to the economic, social, legal, and political spheres in global environments.

The BA in International and European Law at the Brussels School of Governance provides the knowledge, skills and foundation needed for an international career related to the law. This programme is ideal for students who are interested in international and European legal issues. Students will gain an understanding of legal theories and processes in order to provide legal and policy analysis. The curriculum allows students to develop an understanding of legal systems around the world and how they interact, as well as the international system, the European integration process, and European and international law-making.

The Faculty of Law offers a Bachelor's Degree in Comparative, European and International Legal Studies (CEILS), taught entirely in English.
