Binghamton University’s Environmental Studies Program seeks to prepare each student for life as a citizen and as a leader, who is equipped to understand and address the complex environmental challenges facing our communities, nations, and planet. Graduates of our program (with either a BA in Environmental Studies or a BS in Environmental Science) will be able to tackle environmental and societal concerns in four critical areas.

The BSc in Environmental Management with Professional Studies explores environmental management's physical, social, economic and cultural aspects. It combines aspects of science, geography and environmental planning with an ecological work placement to understand the environmental systems in which we live and work.

BA (Honours) in Environmental Studies issues are posing multiple challenges to people and ecosystems across the planet. These challenges can only be addressed effectively if the complex connections between the societal (social, political, economic, cultural, and ethical) and the biophysical (geological, physical, ecological) dimensions of environmental issues are taken seriously.

The Degree in Environmental Sciences is made up of studies with a marked multidisciplinary content and gives graduates the ideal training to cover environmental problems from various fields of knowledge.

This BSc (Honours) in Environmental Science degree explores the disciplines needed to understand, manage and protect our planet.
