The purpose of this Degree Course is to acquire the skills and knowledge that characterize the various sectors of the education sciences as well as the learning of methods and procedures for scientific investigation and intervention.

The aim is to train professionals capable of addressing the technological challenges emerging in Industry 5.0 and leading research sectors. The curriculum is designed to equip students with key technologies enabling sustainable development, specifically focusing on solutions for green-energy transition, quantum technologies, and digital innovation.

Students have the option to choose between a performance path or a music teaching path. The performance path is designed for students who wish to pursue a career as a professional musician, performing in orchestras, bands, and other ensembles. The music teaching path, on the other hand, is geared towards students who wish to become music educators, teaching in schools or private lessons.

The single-cycle degree in Primary Education Sciences is the only qualification recognized as qualifying for teaching, both for nursery schools and for primary schools. According to Ministerial Decree 249/2010, the Study Course includes a single five-year educational path, consisting of classroom teaching activities, laboratories integrated with the teachings and 600 hours of internship in local schools, thus guaranteeing integration between the training activities basic (oriented towards the development of skills transversal to the profession: psychological, linked to teaching methodologies and communication), the characterizing training activities, which revolve around disciplinary knowledge and their teaching (characterizing training activities of area 1) and the training activities characterizing inclusion (Training activities characterizing area 2).

The Course of Study in Educational Sciences aims to offer a framework of personal, cultural and social knowledge and skills that qualify the figure of the educator. This profession, pursuant to Legislative Decree 65/2017 and Law 205/2017, art. 1, paragraphs 594 and 595, is currently used in a variety of extracurricular areas which include: early childhood education services; services aimed at the inclusion of disabled people in different stages of life; educational services in the penitentiary sector and resocialization of prisoners; formal and non-formal educational and training services in work contexts and organisations; educational services aimed at the reception and integration of unaccompanied foreign minors, adult immigrants and refugees; geriatric services.
