The Bachelor’s programme in Development Studies is interdisciplinary and focuses on economic, social and political processes and their links to development cooperation. The aim is to provide the knowledge needed in order to critically examine and understand the preconditions for, and process of, development. The programme draws on four different scientific traditions: sociology, political science, human geography and economic history. Students gain background knowledge needed to prepare for graduate and doctoral studies, as well as working in development-related fields at government agencies, private firms or NGOs.
