The Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries (BACI) is a four-year degree that blends the fundamentals of a business program with courses in media business, design, and communication to help students become the creative leaders of tomorrow.

The course in Fashion and creative industries is designed to train professional figures able to fit into the communication and creative processes of the sector with the appropriate critical-theoretical knowledge of the different artistic-visual languages necessary for the understanding of fashion and able to use the methodological and practical tools to address the main challenges underlying the processes of conception, development and promotion of fashion creations and products of other creative industries.

Knowledge of main communication theories and the ability to apply them in a creative way, taking into consideration the peculiarities of communication services.

Our Creative Media Arts BA Honours is an exciting hands-on course that will see you produce art and make content including films, photographs, interactive installations, and immersive and digital media using creative technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), projection mapping, 3D modelling, and game engines.

The Games Art BA will provide you with the creative skills and technical knowledge needed to design visual assets in-game environments; you’ll design the characters, objects and backgrounds that make games come to life. The Illustration BA aims to provide an intellectual and creative space for students to explore and build skills in a range of traditional, digital and emerging image-making technologies. Our exciting specialist course will enable you to develop your imaginative and creative skills while giving you a sound knowledge and understanding of animation processes, techniques and critical theory. Commercial animation is a rapidly growing and vibrant industry, encompassing a broad range of rewarding and fascinating creative job opportunities. Our strong emphasis on creative practice will help you to develop your skills in drawing and design, along with the imaginative development and innovation of ideas expressed sequentially. These skills, together with the professional practice aspects of the course, will ensure that you have the confidence and expertise to succeed in the industry, whether as a producer, technician, designer or manager. You’ll also develop the transferable and cognitive skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development. Throughout the course, there are opportunities for you to take part in national and international competitions and film festivals. Our course is delivered by a large team of experienced animation practitioners, staff and industry visitors, and you’ll work in dedicated specialist animation studios with facilities for blue screen, rostrum animation, CGI, drawing, stop-frame, film, photography, set building, sound and video. Successful animators need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing cultures and new initiatives, and our course seeks to reflect this fluidity. You’ll rapidly develop your own practice in animation, and will be encouraged to work on shared initiatives. Based at our Harrow Campus – home to the Westminster School of Arts and the Westminster School of Media and Communications – you’ll work alongside students from film, photography, music, fashion and journalism, in a unique creative hothouse.

The Graphic Design BA aims to provide an intellectual and creative space for you to explore and develop a wide range of skills and understanding of the discipline of graphic design. This is applied through a variety of current and emerging technologies and processes for visual communication. The evolving and fluid forms of published and experiential exchanges include interactions with audiences and users across digital, physical, and virtual environments. The breadth and range of the facilities and processes available support creative learning that is interdisciplinary, collaborative and professional – embracing technologies and practices found in current industry work environments. This course offers a flexible, interdisciplinary, and multi-faceted approach to the study of contemporary graphic design practice across a broad range of contexts and projects that are industry-facing as well as experimental, discipline-critical and research-led. It will prepare you with the highest level of practical and employable skills, knowledge and visual understanding required to both work and lead in this sector of the creative industry today. Our course enables you to work across disciplines or within the more traditionally defined areas of practice, while referencing relevant critical and theoretical debates. This is a course in the creative and critical practice of photography. You will be encouraged to develop your own visual practice through an appreciation of the history of the medium as well as a critical understanding of it's wider social and cultural significance. You will also explore a wide range of relevant contemporary theories and debates designed both to stimulate a critically engaged practice and to better prepare you for a range of related careers. You will also gain cognitive and transferable skills necessary for lifelong personal and professional development.

Our Television Production BA is a practice-based course taught by broadcast industry professionals and media theorists, combining critical analysis with hands-on practical skills. Our course focuses on how television programmes are conceived, produced, commissioned and distributed in a digital broadcast and multi-platform environment. You’ll work across a digital workflow supporting single-camera and multi-camera studio production modes and produce programmes across all genres, from documentary and drama series to TV commercials and studio entertainment shows. As well as learning practical skills in editing, camera operations, sound recording, lighting and graphics, you’ll study critical analysis of the ever-changing global broadcast and digital media industries. You’ll work with industry-standard facilities and equipment while being taught by experienced industry professionals and practitioners, including documentary filmmakers, directors, producers and screenwriters. We also host a range of visiting lecturers and guest speakers, from sound designers to investigative journalists and social media strategists.

Our Fashion Design BA has an exceptional reputation for being aligned with the international fashion industry and enabling you to have outstanding opportunities to engage with the industry throughout your course. We specialise in enabling you to become a highly original and individual creative designer, capable of working at the highest levels of the international fashion industry. We were the first undergraduate course to show at London Fashion Week and able to show in February 2020, prior to the national lockdown.
