The worlds of ancient Greece and Rome were extraordinarily rich and diverse. This accessible and rewarding course explores the literature, language, history, societies, cultures, art, archaeology, and global reception of the ancient world. It BA (Honours) in Classical Studies focuses on key sites and periods including Pompeii, Roman Britain, Classical Athens, Delphi, the Roman Republic, and the Roman Empire.

Classical studies are offered through the Department of Middle Eastern and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (MEAMS). Major tracks in Classics offer coursework in the cultures, languages, and literature of the ancient Mediterranean, with a focus on ancient Greece and Rome.

The course aims to supply a fairly detailed study of the contribution of our classical heritage to Western civilization.

Our Liberal Arts and Sciences program offers students the opportunity to study a broad range of subjects whilst developing specialist knowledge in their major discipline (Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences).
