We, the University of Applied Sciences Europe (UE) in Germany have been the very first institution to offer Film + Motion Design as a course of study. This BA (Honours) in Art History and Visual Cultures degree will equip you with the knowledge and critical skills to investigate works of art, images, objects and architecture, from the local to the global and from prehistory to the present. This will be a rich and rounded experience as you discover the power of images and works of art to influence debates and shape everyday life.

The Bachelor of Arts Honors (Visual Art) prepares students for research-based postgraduate study and entry into the diverse careers in the visual industries, by enabling students to produce creative solutions to complex problems within a specialist area of studio practice; exhibit this work professionally and conduct and report their research under supervision. This is a one-year full-time or two years part-time honors program with both a studio practice stream and a purely theoretical stream, when it is made available.

The BA in Art and Visual Technology (AVT) is a liberal arts program that emphasizes breadth of experience in the context of a liberal arts education rather than professional specialization. In addition to completing the university-wide general education requirements and either a foreign language through the intermediate level or a minor, BA AVT majors must complete our Studio Foundations Experience, studio core and research practicum courses, art history, and critical theory requirement, interdisciplinary studio course electives, and a capstone.

To provide through studio activities, a strong foundation in traditional and contemporary visual arts media, media processes, and media production; To provide an understanding of art history and contemporary issues of the visual arts; To maintain a course of study that effectively provides instruction in pedagogical methods and procedures, knowledge in the selection, preparation, and organization of teaching materials for students who seek certification as public school teachers in the visual arts; To encourage growth as a professional artist through studio production and critiques, student participation in competitive visual arts exhibitions, and through periodic review of portfolio development; To provide a gallery for promoting increased awareness of the African-American’s contributions to the visual arts and American culture, to foster a forum for the presentation, preservation, and exhibition of visual arts media, and to sponsor visual arts activities that provide opportunities for appreciation and cultural enlightenment in the University and surrounding communities.
