The Art History and Criticism, BA is designed for students to pursue careers as art historians, critics, or curators in museums or galleries. It may also serve as a foundation for graduate study in art history.

Moravian University’s graphic and interactive design track in the art major is committed to creative and critical thinking and is designed for students interested in careers in the field of design, including graphic, publication, interactive, marketing, or branding design, or as preparation for graduate study.

Accounting is often called “the language of business.” The study of accounting prepares you to analyze and summarize economic activity for purposes of good decision-making in organizations. Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared for a career in public accounting, private industry, or nonprofit organizations. It’s also a good foundation for graduate study and examinations for professional certifications.

With strong foundations in sociological research and theory, you'll learn about the self and society, and the importance of institutions, interactions, and inequalities in social life.

The Environmental Studies and Sciences program at Moravian University acquaints students with the myriad environmental issues that face us today. It seeks to develop a framework in which students can work closely with faculty and one another to analyze problems, test assumptions, and debate issues as they affect our lives as citizens of our community, our nation, and the world. The perspective we seek to develop is strongly interdisciplinary, incorporating the natural sciences as well as economics, history, philosophy, and political science.

At Moravian University psychology is a primary established body of knowledge that focuses on both human and animal behavior, as a discipline that generates information and discovery by using methods of inquiry employed by the natural and social sciences, and as a field of professional activity that is variously applied to promote human welfare.

The Department of Philosophy provides students, through a wide variety of courses and programs, with opportunities to explore questions of fundamental significance to human life and to develop skills in critical thinking, reasoning, writing, and reading. Students will explore issues such as what is justice? How should we live? What is valuable? Can God exist given the existence of evil in the world? What is the relationship between faith and reason? What is reality? What can we know? How do we know that we know? What meaning is there to life? What is race? What is ethnicity? What acts are right and wrong? What is truth?

The past—yours, ours, the world's—holds both some of life's greatest mysteries as well as answers (or at least clues) to the most puzzling of problems. Our program in history acquaints you with the nature of historical inquiry and the antiquity and variety of human experience. Instead of relying solely on factual narratives, you'll focus on the analysis of primary sources, understanding history as a contested field of interpretations, and the skills of producing histories. The history major prepares you to enter careers and graduate study in a variety of fields, including teaching and research, education, museums, and historical restoration, library work, journalism, business, law, and public service.

English Studies is one of the cornerstones of a liberal arts education and also offers a variety of approaches to specialized study. At Moravian University, students are invited to explore the rich, multi-dimensional nature of English Studies through their engagement with creative expression and the study of culture and history, linguistics, literature, rhetoric, theatre and performance, media, and writing. Excellent preparation for graduate study, the English major also helps launch the careers of writers, critics, lawyers, reporters, archivists, speech writers, editors, teachers, publishers, and researchers.

The art education program at Moravian University places child-centered teaching and learning theories into practice. As children and adolescents create works of art about big ideas that matter to themselves and others, they are problem-solving and problem-seeking. As they create works of art based on ideas shaped through dialogue with their peers and teachers, they are constructing new knowledge about their experiences in and through the world.

The studio art track is designed to prepare students for careers in the fine arts in areas such as drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, or printmaking. It may also serve as a foundation for graduate study in fine arts.

The Engineering department offers several types of opportunities for students wishing to pursue a career in engineering. Two of these options involve dual degree programs (the 3/2 and 4/1) in which the student will study at Moravian University for several years and then transfer to the associated institution to finish up the program of study, resulting in a degree being granted from each institution. A third option involves simply continuing graduate study at an engineering institution of the students choosing upon successful completion of the undergraduate program at Moravian University.

The program in political science provides a comprehensive set of theoretical and empirical strategies for understanding political experience with all its complexities. The curriculum emphasizes the ability to recognize, evaluate and debate those fundamental human issues, power differentials, and diverse actors that have shaped political institutions, practices, and texts. Students majoring in political science are well-prepared to pursue graduate training in a variety of fields, including public policy, law, journalism, political science, and related social science fields.

The Music program is an integral part of the educational and cultural environment of Moravian University and the Lehigh Valley.
