English the Five-Year Master Plan is a pathway to earning two powerful credentials, a Bachelor of Arts BA degree and a Master of Arts MA degree, in just five years. The BA/MA program in English is designed to provide a clear path for New Paltz students majoring in English Liberal Arts or Creative Writing to complete the MA degree in one year.

A Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Astronomy is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on the study of celestial objects and phenomena in the universe. While a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Astronomy tends to have a stronger emphasis on mathematical and scientific aspects of the field, a BA in Astronomy often offers a more interdisciplinary approach, allowing students to explore the subject from various perspectives.

Psychology Our five year program offers a fast track to the BA in Psychology and MS in Psychological Science degrees. Designed with the same courses and number of credits students on the traditional track take but in half the time. The five-year program is designed to draw together a community of students who are passionate about learning, prepared for an advanced curriculum, and seeking to work alongside peers who are similarly engaged.

Accounting major provides outstanding preparation for careers in professional and corporate accounting as well as many other areas in business and finance. Chemistry Develop a qualitative understanding of both atomic and molecular structure including shell structure, chemical bonding and the shapes of molecules.Understand trends in the periodic table such as size and reactivity.Obtain knowledge of the concepts of quantitative chemical analysis and its relationship to experimental measurements and be able to analyze the associated experimental error from each measurement.

With a broad definition of Asia extending from the Pacific Rim to the Arabian Sea, this minor gives students an opportunity to study Asia as an integral part of human civilization.

The Bachelor of Arts in Earth Sciences, under the Geology curriculum, provides students with an in depth learning experience for students searching for careers in geoscience, local and state scientific and regulatory agencies, K-12 science teaching, attending law school, or (for example) being a park ranger or working in a field other than pure geology.
