14 Television Studies BA Degree Programs

The media & journalism major offers and requires a variety of foundational and skills courses to help prepare students to enter the “real world” of media. The blending of media law and media ethics with hands-on skills is inherent in the courses offered in this major. The television, radio, and digital media track is designed for students planning to work in television (broadcast, cable, satellite, digital, mobile) and/or radio (broadcast, satellite, digital).

The Bachelor of Arts in Television and Digital Media opens a world of opportunity in today's complex and interrelated media fields. You will learn skills such as reporting, writing, anchoring, producing, directing, and editing for traditional media such as radio and television, and how these skills are applied within social media and the Internet.

The comprehensive focus of the program helps students develop their skills working in a theorycum- practical-environment that is well equipped in purpose-built studios. The trainers are the practicing personalities from the media world. The College is committed to providing a realistic studio environment that nurtures and inspires creativity. A degree in Radio and Television has strong links to the growth of the broadcast industry that is emerging in the GCC countries and elsewhere. AUE graduates are hand-tutored to be imaginative, technologically adaptable, able thinkers, and entrepreneurial with a commitment to work in the digital media industry. The students are coached to develop, create and critique content from animation to mash-up, blogs, broadcasts, advertisements, and short films and to imaginatively build themselves to perform both as producer and consumer. The ultimate idea is to develop and refine their qualities in collaborating, networking, and project management.

The B.A. in Applied Theatre, Film, and Television (ATFT) brings together three related humanities-based arts disciplines. We are the disciplinary home for theatre as both theory and practice and combine the strengths of the film and media studies curriculum in the School of Liberal Arts, its numerous production courses, along with relevant and exciting media and theatre-related work being done in Herron School of Art, the School of Informatics and Computing, and the School of Engineering and Technology.
