The 7-year course of the TNNUA’s Music Department was established in 1997. It is the nation’s first specialized institution on music education. Sharing the objectives and program design of similar institutions in countries with advanced education in music training, such as Russia and other western nations, the school is the spotlight of much attention. Students of the Department hail from across Taiwan. The Music Department takes a maximum of 30 students per year. Currently, the Department comprises divisions such as piano, strings, winds and percussion. The entrance audition is divided into two phases: a preliminary round and a second round. The auditions are held in January and March, respectively. As to student recruitment, the Department retains a view and judgment based on diversity and flexibility to avoid becoming rigid and biased.

The main incentive is to upgrade national level of design education and foster outstanding design specialist, as well as to enhance quality of instruction, research and service, by integration of in-campus resources and mutual complement of expertise among departments and graduate schools, so as to become an international prime college of design in diverse fields.

The Department of Art History places art history at its core, with the integration of art history, conservation and maintenance of cultural relics and museum practice as teaching strategies and general guideline. The objective is to nurture talents with training in art history, as well as fundamental knowledge in archaeology, conservation and maintenance of cultural relics, and museum collection management and exhibition. Since its establishment in 2003, this objective has served as the guideline for hiring of faculty members and designing courses.

The Department was established in 2006. It is a creative major for learning about art, crafts and design. The Department is subdivided into 5 divisions, including: metal works, ceramics, fiber, wood work, and design. Classes are conducted in the form of workshops, allowing students to acquire solid training through the workshop environment, whereby they could obtain in-depth understanding and strengthen creative potentials involving materials, helping them build up creative energy for the future.

The Department of Accounting is committed to offering accounting programs that emphasize instruction in accounting theory and practices, enhance an awareness of professional ethics, and provide training in tax practices, information technology, and foreign language skills to meet a need for accounting professionals in modern society.
