53 Social Science BA Degree Programs

This is one of several specialist routes available in our BA (Honours) in Social Sciences (Politics) degree. You'll study core modules in interdisciplinary social science and sociology, giving you a firm grounding in ideas central to the social sciences. This will be combined with exploring the fundamentals of political theory and examining the debates and conflicts inherent in a modern democracy.

Your first year is about two things, exploring your interests and building the skills you need. You’ll kickstart your skills-building with the only mandatory course: Personal & Professional Development (PPD). PPD helps you transition from high school to university life, while developing essential skills for both in and outside the classroom.

A subject that fosters a historical and global understanding of digital technology and develops digital skills to tackle major challenges in media.

The Department of Political Science and Public Administration, in partnership with the College of Education, offers an exciting pathway to earning a North Carolina Teaching License in Social Studies. This program combines the coursework of a major in political science with hands-on education training and up to 21 additional hours in other social science fields. You’ll build the knowledge, skills, and classroom experience needed to make a real impact.

The BA (Honours) in Social Sciences seek answers to the big questions we face as a society and inform the work of policymakers, business leaders and many others. The Department of History, in collaboration with the College of Education, offers the premier track to a North Carolina Professional Licensure III status in History and Social Studies.

The Bachelor's programme "Social Sciences for Intercultural Relations" (BASIB) qualifies students for intercultural and international careers. The interdisciplinary programme includes the subjects of sociology, political science, communication science and law, each with a focus on inter- and transcultural relations.

The part-time course in social, public and nonprofit management includes business knowledge, legal principles and a deep understanding of non-profit organizations. Graduates also develop social skills.

The Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences for Global Challenges trains future experts on global challenges, like biodiversity, health, climate change, population ageing, migrations and natural disasters. It offers analytical instruments and knowledge to understand the causes, nature and development.
