Learn more about Photography and Imaging BA degree programs
You'll study light, composition, and visual storytelling through a program that takes you from foundational technique to professional practice. A Bachelor's in Photography and Imaging goes well beyond pointing a camera — it's where artistic intent meets technical mastery.
The learning environment fosters independent creative thinking and a strong sense of visual authorship. You'll move through coursework covering analog and digital photography, studio lighting, color theory, photo editing, and image sequencing. Many programs also include modules in photojournalism, commercial photography, or fine art practice, so you can shape your studies around the direction you want to take.
At this level, you're expected to develop a coherent body of work and articulate your creative decisions. You'll practice critiquing your own images and others', handling client briefs, and producing work across different formats and contexts. Industry-linked projects often give you real exposure to editorial, advertising, or gallery settings.
Graduates move into roles in editorial and documentary photography, advertising, digital media production, visual content creation, and photo editing for publishing or design studios.
