The Bachelor of Arts in Music Concentration provides students with an excellent general education as well as a solid background in the core areas of Music. It is a great choice if you are planning to earn another degree or diploma in a related field, such as education, to start your career.

The Bachelor of Arts in Drama Concentration is designed to provide a broad base of experience in theatre arts. You will gain skills through practical inquiry, experimentation in theatre creation and performance, risk-taking and application of research and theory.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music Major is provided with a well-rounded music education through applied music lessons on a primary instrument, courses in music history, theory and pedagogy. CUE’s Faculty of Music offers a wide range of programs, centred primarily around classical music.

Contemporary dance encompasses an exciting and eclectic range of performance styles. It is at the forefront of experimental work in the performing arts. Vital professional companies and a small number of excellent schools are spread throughout North and South America, Europe, and other areas of the world. Graduates of our program join this tradition working as dancers, choreographers, teachers, and artistic directors throughout Canada and beyond.

The Raindance Film School’s Top-Up BA (Hons) in Film and Performing Arts Practices is a one-year practical course designed for aspiring and experienced acting or filmmaking practitioners who wish to upgrade their existing level 5 (or equivalent) qualification to a full Bachelor of Arts (Hon’s) degree, validated by De Montfort University.

The BA in Music Worship Arts stream offers a holistic program for students pursuing careers in music ministry. Serving both the church and society, this degree enables you to have a solid basis musically, biblically and practically to expertly lead in worship music with self-assurance and theological awareness.

StFX Music is a pioneer in jazz education in Canada.  We offered the country’s first university degree in Jazz Studies in 1983. At StFX, you’ll receive individual instruction from some of Canada’s leading music educators in studio, classroom and rehearsal environments, honing your performance and compositional skills. Our strengths are in our teaching and course content. We provide direct face-to-face private studio lessons with faculty, and our courses teach you how to use the best resource available: you. As a Music major, you’ll have courses in music theory, composition, arranging, private studio lessons, jazz history, and ensembles.

The Drama major, taken as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree, combines theory and practice within a well-rounded liberal arts setting. You will be exposed to every aspect of the theatrical process, including acting, clowning, and improvisation; playwriting, directing, production, and design; and critical analysis and theory. You’ll also have the opportunity to pursue your own independent project in research and/or practice.

Bachelor of Applied Arts, Animation and Visual Effects is available in a blended (online and main campus) delivery, as well as in person.Students who complete the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Animation and Visual Effects will be well prepared for entry level jobs in mid to large sized animation studios, and they will also possess the skills and attributes to collaborate with others in the creative arts to develop independent projects that serve the animation and visual effects needs of local industry.

Creative Industries prepares students for management, leadership and entrepreneurship roles in communication, design, media, entertainment, arts and culture. In this interdisciplinary program, youll learn the fundamentals of creative industry operations from how to develop creative ideas to business models, to marketing, finance, distribution, legal agreements, technology, design thinking and more.

Our rigorous program of hands-on theatre experiences will enable you to refine your artistic techniques and develop creativity, confidence, and discipline that will serve you for a lifetime. Courses in theatre history and theory provide a comprehensive understanding of drama’s essential role in society. Your program allows you to focus your attention on performance and technical/design courses, understand and appreciate dramatic arts from around the world and immerse yourself in the study of culture and creativity. Compliment your studies with courses from art, humanities, sciences and social sciences.

Students who complete the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Film, Theatre, and Live Entertainment will be well prepared for entry level work as performers, directors, producers, or technicians in mid to large sized theatres, film sets, and production companies, and they will also possess the skills and attributes to collaborate with others in the creative arts to develop independent projects that serve the film, theatre, and live event needs of local industry.
