13 Multimedia BA Degree Programs

The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts Honors in Design (Multimedia) prepares students for research-based postgraduate study and entry into a design career by enabling students to produce creative solutions to complex problems within a specialist area of design and to conduct and report on research under supervision.

Students majoring in MMDC will stand at the intersection of academic worlds, borrowing from literature, history, mathematics, and computer science to develop skillsets and research methods that resonate in the future-forward workplace.

Our unique academic program lets our students engage with exciting new trends in various creative disciplines, popular visual cultures, and cutting-edge design technologies. They begin with a foundation year where students have the opportunity to experience all of our visual disciplines: Graphic Design, Photography, Art Direction, Illustration, and Multimedia, before choosing a major visual subject to take through to their third year. This allows for a unique understanding of visual communication as well as an opportunity for our students to truly curate their learning according to their avenues of talent and interest. We combine this practice with subjects like Marketing, Business Leadership, Discourse, and Visual Studies, ensuring our students are at the forefront of an industry that is constantly evolving. The five majors (Applied Illustration, Art Direction, Graphic Design, Multimedia & Photography) focus on creative and industry-related practical knowledge and skills, with the remaining three components delivering vital context and theory that set our graduates apart in the South African job market.

BA (Hons) in Wildlife Media. You will study wildlife biodiversity, habitat, and behavior, alongside the theory and practice of film and photography. You will benefit from opportunities to work with leading industry professionals in a biodiverse World Heritage Site with regular field trips and visits.

Creative Media at Bath Spa University is more than a typical media studies degree. Yes, you'll learn digital techniques, media knowledge, and how to excel in the industry. It's also a practical, personalized experience, where much of what you work on is led by you.

As one of the newest programs at UW-Superior, the multimedia journalism program is designed to reflect changes in the journalism industry and meet the increasing demand for multimedia journalists and communication professionals. The program is unique in the region, differing from traditional journalism programs by preparing students to be skilled digital storytellers who research, compose and produce work to be mass communicated across a wide range of media platforms.

This isn't your ordinary journalism degree. In the multimedia journalism program, you’ll be challenged to maintain your morals in an ethical communications course—and you’ll dig deep to expose government corruption and consumer fraud in your investigative journalism course. Courses in social media, digital layout, video editing, and photojournalism will flesh out your portfolio. And by working with the iPulse, our award-winning student newspaper, and news website, you can add to your extensive experience with a portfolio full of clippings.

The BA Programme in Multimedia at Asian University is designed to produce graduates who have both a broad understanding of the discipline and specialized communication skills that enable them to make valuable contributions to the field of multimedia.

Multimedia Design at GDC is concerned primarily with interactive design and motion graphics.

Students who enroll for a Bachelor of Arts degree with Major in Multimedia Studies must choose one of two concentrations: the Film, Video and New Media concentration or the Multimedia Journalism concentration. In addition, students must meet all University and Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters requirements. These include satisfactory completion of a total of 120 credits, 60 of which must be earned at a four-year college or university, and 8 credits in sequence in a single foreign language.
