This BA (Honours) in Criminology and Law degree takes a critical and analytical view of the role and functions of the legal system and examines its relationship with crime, and harm criminal justice. The Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law (PPL) is a coordinated programme of study culminating in the award of a BA (Philosophy, Politics and Law) degree. It offers a structured, yet flexible, programme with a focus on Philosophy and either Law or Politics or both.

The Law and Politics major is designed to offer students a focused course of study of law and politics in the liberal arts tradition. The core curriculum will expose students to some of the dominant approaches to the study of law and politics.

No specific courses are required for law school admittance or attendance. However, law schools are interested in students who demonstrate reading, writing, and analytical skills. Familiarity with the social, political, and cultural conditions out of which law is created can also be beneficial.

The philosophy, politics and law (PPL) major is an interdisciplinary major focused on law, policy, government and citizenship. It draws on philosophy, political science, history and other areas of study. PPL majors learn how to think critically, write well and cogently debate about social, political, ethical and legal issues.
