The Interior Design programme provides students with the opportunity to develop their creative and artistic talent within a unique, explorative and highly design-focused course structure where the main emphasis is on international contemporary design. Throughout the programme, students are educated in design awareness, ability and critique, method construction and the technical characteristics required to advance a career in the vast and complex industry of interior design.

The program focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in interior architecture, blending creative design skills with technical knowledge. It covers core areas such as residential, commercial, and institutional spaces, along with the use of design software and construction techniques.

In this programme, students gain, develop and demonstrate the knowledge, understanding and skills in Interior Architecture and Design.

The scope of work in interior design has expanded tremendously. As the present day's built environment has grown in complexity and diversity, the interior realm has become a profession in its own right.

The BA (Hons) Interior Design course explores the human scale and relationship in the continuously changing context of spatial environments. The students learn to develop and design the right contexts and identities of these spatial environments in the different areas of SMLXL, which stands not only for the scale of the environment but also for the scale of manufacturing and exclusivity.

The Scheme emphasises the integration of design and its relevance to society, the needs of a changing world, digital readiness and technological integration with the digital world, the growing need for design entrepreneurship and innovation, and the need for future designers to possess inter-disciplinary capabilities.
