18 Humanities BA Degree Programs

This is an interdisciplinary major designed primarily for students who desire a broad, multidisciplinary general education in the best tradition of the liberal arts and who wish to avoid the specialization of a major field. (Note: these requirements are for those students majoring in Liberal Studies only, not for those students majoring in both Liberal Studies and Education.)

AIC’s International Studies program offers a multidisciplinary analysis of the politics, geography, economics, and history of societies around the world. For students looking for a global perspective that balances breadth and depth, this program is your entry into the world of international affairs.

The Bachelor of Arts is conferred upon students who have satisfactorily completed a minimum of 120 semester hours of academic work, and is offered only through the part-time evening program. This program is designed to meet two major objectives:  to provide students with a solid introduction to the liberal arts and to allow students (through judicious use of their electives) the flexibility to combine those studies with their vocational or avocational interests.

This degree uniquely positions you to explore some of the world’s most pressing problems while preparing for a career with an international focus: in business, diplomacy, policy development, and for advocacy in a global civil society.

The Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education - English and Language Arts (Online) teaches reading, writing, listening, and comprehension to secondary education students. You will master these ELA skills so that you can implement effective lessons and learning strategies in 4th-12th grade classrooms.

The Baptist University of the Américas offers a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical/Theological Studies. BUA is committed to the formation of cross-cultural Christian leaders. This degree prepares our students to be 21st-century Christian leaders who can navigate among different cultures and ethnicities.

You can choose one of the five specialist areas: BA (Hons) Theology and Ministerial Leadership BA (Hons) Theology and Ministry with Counselling BA (Hons) Theology and Ministry with Entrepreneurship BA (Hons) Theology and Ministry with Media Culture BA (Hons) Theology and Ministry with Youth Work and Music

The BA in Philosophy and the Catholic Tradition allows students to encounter those outstanding figures in the history of philosophy who are also major figures in the history of Catholic thought. The course also presents the Catholic tradition of philosophy to students as a living, dynamic reality, in critical and constructive dialogue with the other philosophical traditions at work in our contemporary culture.

The Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a Ministry minor is designed to prepare students to serve in local churches or other Christian work and ministry forms.

Research the past to understand the present with a History Degree from Saint Francis University History can help you build your future by studying the past. Our program offers a well-rounded look into history while also allowing you to take specialized electives, learn from hands-on internships, and dive into your own research. The History major also pairs well with a specialization in Pre-Law, a concentration in Secondary Education, or a variety of minors, allowing you to pursue your unique interests while preparing for your chosen career.

Our Liberal Arts program is largely self-designed. This program qualifies you to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree qualification that you design for exactly the skills you need and what you want to learn. It enables you to develop knowledge and understanding within and across specific subject areas that, along with the Soft Skills, can be transferred anywhere, anytime. It is a combination of learning, self-reflection, and social impact.

A study of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in the first three Gospels, with an inductive study of one of the Gospels. Current literary and historical approaches to the gospel narratives will be examined.

The B.A. in History provides an embracing perspective from which to study human lives and affairs.

A study of the origin, development and spread of the Anabaptist movement, with special emphasis on history, doctrine and biography.

The Christian Leadership program equips adults in leadership roles with biblical foundations, an understanding of our world, and leadership proficiency.
