Our Criminal Psychology degree (BA) was designed to help you solve issues facing today’s criminal justice system, while giving you the tools to understand the people within it. Our faculty and students are connected to local, state and federal law enforcement groups, including the Worcester Attorney General’s office, Massachusetts State Police, and the FBI.

The health systems major provides students interested in healthcare careers with a broad foundation in biology, chemistry, psychology, and ethics. Upon completion of the major, students will be able to design and evaluate scientific questions through hypothesis generation, experimentation, and data analysis; and communicate effectively in oral and written form. Additionally, the major provides many of the prerequisite courses needed for transition to a bachelor of nursing (BSN) and occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), and physician's assistant (PA) graduate programs, while also being flexible enough if students interests change once they start college.

You'll consider criminal acts and human motivations and then look beyond them to examine the social conditions in which crime occurs.

BA (Honours) in Philosophy and Psychological Studies seek to answer profound questions about ourselves and our place in the social and physical universe. In this degree, you'll investigate a range of philosophical debates about ethics, justice, scientific knowledge, religion, art, and the self. You'll cover the core approaches in social, cognitive and developmental psychology, and some applied aspects of professional practice.

This is one of several specialist routes available in our BA (Honours) in Social Sciences (Psychology) degree. You'll study core modules in interdisciplinary social science and sociology, giving you a firm grounding in ideas central to the social sciences. This will be combined with exploring psychology through a range of real-world issues including love, sexuality and artificial intelligence before opting to study either social psychology or counselling and forensic psychology.

The purpose of the BA Hons in Art Therapy is to develop students’ creative, imaginative, and critical knowledge, skills, and academic research capabilities within the domains of the art therapy discourse, visual arts, and psychosocial and therapeutic industries. The Honours program will equip students with an intermediate knowledge of Art Therapy theories, and research methodologies, as they relate to eventual practice as an Art Therapist on completion of a Master's in Art Therapy, as well as an ability to think competently, safely, and ethically in a range of observed clinical settings.

Psychology is the scientific study of mental life and behaviour. It involves areas such as Brain and Behaviour, Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Psychological Research Methods. Students take Psychology along with two Arts subjects in first year, concentrating on Psychology only in second and third year.

The Psychology Department offers its students the option to pursue a wide variety of areas in the study of human and animal behavior while simultaneously providing a solid grounding in the research and scientific aspects of our field.

The program trains professionals who will possess the essential theoretical and practical knowledge, the fundamental methods of Psychology and who are familiar with the applied areas of psychology on a basic level.
