In the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BA) in Filmmaking at NYFA’s Film School, aspiring directors and filmmakers create films and multiplatform content, while building their confidence as directors and visual storytellers. As the goal for every BA film student is to graduate with a tremendous amount of filmmaking experience and a reel, our students learn-by-doing, getting intensive on-set production training while creating their own films.

The Rutgers Filmmaking Center offers a bachelor of fine arts (BFA) degree in filmmaking, an innovative program with individualized training in fiction and documentary film production taught by industry professionals.

MCAD’s Filmmaking major is versatile, experiential, and designed for a variety of fields. Whether it’s for a music video, art project, documentary, or feature film, students try it all—writing, directing, producing, shooting, sound mixing, editing, and even acting. The Raindance International Degree Program in Acting or Filmmaking is a unique course, designed to give our students the opportunity to experience Filmmaking or Acting across 3 continents and achieve a full UK university degree at the end of the third year.

Film and Media Arts majors learn how to communicate stories effectively, whether they’re interested in filmmaking, video marketing, scriptwriting, or other media production aspects. York College offers a unique program, combining the scholarly study of film with the hands-on training in the practical skills you’ll need to land a job in the field of your choice.

Students of the BA in Cinematic Arts have access to a production facility, editing suite, 4k cameras, and the latest in accessories, and a sound stage to top it off.

In Shenandoah’s film studies program, you’ll learn how to make your own films, with plenty of hands-on experiences available. You’ll also discover more about the history of film, as well as explore filmmaking from a wide variety of perspectives.

SFI’s accelerated BA in Film program provides a total immersion educational experience that revolves around a collaborative framework that is so crucial in the world of film.

The Department of Photography and Film aims to facilitate a comprehensive artistic, technical, and intellectual understanding and use of the mediums of photography and film; to provide a rigorous education in the arts, specifically in photographic and moving image media, and a broad education in other academic subjects; and to foster a climate that inspires creativity, intellectual curiosity, freedom of expression and critical thinking.

Students who complete the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Film, Theatre, and Live Entertainment will be well prepared for entry level work as performers, directors, producers, or technicians in mid to large sized theatres, film sets, and production companies, and they will also possess the skills and attributes to collaborate with others in the creative arts to develop independent projects that serve the film, theatre, and live event needs of local industry.

OKWU’s Bachelor of Arts in Digital Cinema equips students to compete and thrive in the modern, media-saturated world. Students develop expertise in the areas of film production, shooting, and editing while participating with other students in production labs, internship experiences, and in a culminating senior capstone project.
