In the field of Ethics, or moral philosophy, academics consider how people live and act in society. Students who engage with these issues build on a foundation of literary research in philosophy and history of ethics from a range of eras and geographies to develop their reading and critical thinking abilities. It is also important for them to cultivate the skills necessary to confront the problems emerging in society and in dialog with people from different fields.

The program incorporates aspects of ethics, political science, and policy studies to create a well-rounded and practical foundation for future leaders and decision-makers. The knowledge and skills gained in this program can be applied to a number of current issues. For example, encouraging ethical media practices, guiding ethical principles in emerging technologies, and developing policies that benefit people and the environment.

The B.A. in Faith, Ethics, and Justice (previously named B.A. in Theology) provides a multifaceted approach to exploring the Christian faith, the human experience, and the challenges of pursuing a more humane and just society.
