The Engineering department offers several types of opportunities for students wishing to pursue a career in engineering. Two of these options involve dual degree programs (the 3/2 and 4/1) in which the student will study at Moravian University for several years and then transfer to the associated institution to finish up the program of study, resulting in a degree being granted from each institution. A third option involves simply continuing graduate study at an engineering institution of the students choosing upon successful completion of the undergraduate program at Moravian University.

A student may choose to complete a four year degree at Centenary before pursuing studies in engineering.

Scripps offers the opportunity to combine a BA degree with a BS degree in engineering, including agreements with Columbia University and Harvey Mudd College. Please refer to the engineering requirements under Science in the Courses.

The B.A. degree provides a flexible and interdisciplinary engineering experience for students who wish to broaden their learning horizons across disciplines in Trinity’s liberal arts curriculum. The B.A. is different from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited B.S. degree.

Engineers use science, technology, and math to solve problems and create solutions. In today’s interconnected world, they also need to be excellent communicators, collaborators, and critical thinkers. As an engineering student at Albion, you’ll gain the skills fostered by a liberal arts education while you build your foundational technical knowledge. Then, you’ll transfer to an engineering school to finish your advanced studies.

Aerospace engineering prepares you to create more efficient and economical solutions for aircraft, spacecraft and related systems and equipment such as drones and satellites. While your studies will include math, physics and engineering concepts, you will also learn how to design, build and test aircraft, spacecraft and other machines that fly or orbit.

Electrical Engineering broadly encompasses disciplines such as microelectronics, photonics, computer engineering, signal processing, control systems, and communications. Three electrical engineering degree programs are offered, as well as a joint degree between the electrical engineering and computer science departments.

The dual-degree Engineering program combines the strengths of a liberal arts education and specialization in a field of engineering, with stronger training in basic science and a broad education including communication skills.

Energy, the environment, and health care are key challenges facing humanity in the twenty-first century. Chemical engineering is a discipline well placed to confront these challenges. Chemical engineering is rooted in the basic sciences of mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biology; a traditional engineering science core of thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and chemical kinetics; a rigorous design component; and an expanding focus on emerging topics in materials, nanotechnology, and life sciences. The discipline has grown from its petrochemical origins to become central to state-of-the-art technologies in microelectronics, alternative energy, biomedicine, and pharmaceutics.

Mechanical engineering is among the most diversified of the traditional engineering disciplines. The mechanical engineer builds machines to extend our physical and mental capabilities and to convert traditional and novel energy sources into useful forms.

In biomedical engineering, you will learn to design and create complex medical devices and imaging technology, as well improve health care delivery systems and early detection methods. The program encourages you to master the fundamentals of engineering, physical and life sciences.

Cal Poly is the home of one of the nation’s largest and most respected civil engineering programs. Our modern, design-centered laboratories and hands-on curriculum allow you to experience real-world conditions and learn how to incorporate the appropriate engineering standards.

A five-year program, offered in conjunction with other institutions, allows students to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in management engineering from Pitzer and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the second institution.

Environmental engineering encompasses the scientific assessment and development of engineering solutions to environmental problems affecting land, water, and air (the biosphere). The field addresses broad environmental issues, including the safety of drinking water, groundwater protection and remediation, wastewater treatment, indoor and outdoor air pollution, climate change, solid and hazardous waste disposal, cleanup of contaminated sites, the prevention of pollution through product and process design, and strategies for sustainable water and energy use and production.

The computer engineering program prepares you to develop new computer hardware, design and implement software applications, and enhance the capabilities of networks and communications systems.
