Early Childhood Education (Consecutive Diploma/Degree) is a joint program with Ryerson University that offers many distinct advantages, including the ability to graduate with both an Early Childhood Education diploma from George Brown College and a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies degree from Ryerson University.

Early Childhood Studies BA provides in depth knowledge of child development from birth through age eight. You ll study physiological, psychological and social perspectives and develop understanding and skills pertaining to family support, early childhood education, arts, literacy and disabilities in young children.

Field education each year, international placement and research opportunities and the chance to apply to a consecutive BEd program with York University will prepare you to work with children, families and professionals in a variety of settings.

The Mount is proud to offer the only university-level Child & Youth Study program in Atlantic Canada. Students in our program engage in practical training and theoretical explorations in child and youth work, early childhood education, as well as early intervention and inclusive development. As strong supporters of experiential learning we are pleased to offer our undergraduates four supervised practicum placements which enable our students to apply the knowledge that they have learned in the classroom to hands-on, real-world experience. We also offer a Master of Arts in Child and Youth Study.

The Childhood and Youth Studies (CYS) department at King's focuses on the often-overlooked subject of childhood from an interdisciplinary perspective. Thus, we look at childhood from sociological, anthropological, historical, and geographical perspectives. We discuss issues such as child competencies, questions about our understandings of childhood, and an exploration of the changing status of children and childhood in Canada and internationally.

Children Childhood and Youth Understand the human condition from the perspectives of young people. Our program takes a child-centred and childrens rights-based approach to this relatively new field of study. You will explore the many facets of global childhoods from award-winning faculty members and distinguished researchers. Our interdisciplinary and humanities-based approaches include courses from sociology, psychology, literature, history, anthropology, and human rights and equity studies.
