The Visual Arts Major offers a multidisciplinary education in the arts with advanced study in one specialization such as drawing and painting. To begin your studies, you can take courses in art history, art and technology, 3-D modeling and animation, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture and video.

The Louisiana Christian University Art Department trains students to have a positive Christian impact on society by providing a serious study of the visual arts in all its forms and contexts so that they may more fully dialogue with the professional art world. MCAD’s Drawing and Painting major challenges perception by exploring and reimagining what is possible. Grounded in a rigorous exploration of materials and techniques, students hone their artistic voice through critiques, engagement with guest artists, and collaboration with a creative community of makers and thinkers.

The program begins with 18 months of rigorous training in drawing, composition, painting, sculpting, and anatomy to ensure students have the foundational skill set to pursue their artistic expression.
