Cal Poly is the home of one of the nation’s largest and most respected civil engineering programs. Our modern, design-centered laboratories and hands-on curriculum allow you to experience real-world conditions and learn how to incorporate the appropriate engineering standards.

Show that you've got what it takes to run large-scale building projects, from roads to skyscrapers. You'll study the theories and methods of planning, design and management that a Civil Engineering career demands, getting to grips with the development and maintenance of infrasctructure in Portsmouth, the city of famed civil engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. This is a degree apprenticeship course, so you’ll spend 1 day of your working week on your studies, with the other 4 in your current job. You’ll follow an accredited programme of study that lets you put your learn to work immediately, developing your career as you contribute to the success of your company. And your fees are covered by your employer, or the Government, so you won’t face any tuition costs.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Architectural Studies is a four-year, undergraduate degree program in which students explore the many factors that shape our built environment. The program provides a liberal studies approach to the study of architecture that explores socio-cultural influences, urbanism, spatial reasoning, aesthetics, political and economic structures, landscape, construction, building technologies, and ecology. The program engages students in the experience of architecture as a complex, multi-faceted discipline. It also offers the opportunity to focus their studies through a series of courses concentrating on one of three areas

Coastal communities face issues arising from hurricanes, rising sea levels and tremendous population growth. Among the areas you will cover as a student at UNCW are beach nourishment, dredging, sediment transport, wave dynamics, coastal structure analysis and design, hydrology, ports, jetties and inland waterways, as well as other areas. You will have the opportunity for extensive field research in the area's waterways and coastal habitats under the direction of faculty scholars and access to state-of-the-art facilities, including the UNCW Center for Marine Science.

The Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Design / Pre-professional is an undergraduate degree program that prepares candidates for admission with advanced standing to most professional architecture graduate programs. It is also good preparation for other roles that benefit from an understanding of and exposure to architectural design and problem solving such as government, development, management, planning, art, graphic design, and digital arts.
