The Christian Studies major at Logsdon School of Theology equips women and men called to join God’s work in the world through a ministry vocation or who are interested in Biblical or theological studies.

The biblical studies major combines a broad background in philosophy, Christian theology, and ministry with a solid foundation in the Bible. Graduates are furnished with a biblical basis for Christian ministry and evangelism and are prepared for graduate study in the Bible and Christian theology.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is Otago's most flexible undergraduate degree Program, enabling students to study from a selection of more than 40 arts and social science subjects, as well as papers offered elsewhere in the University. Tyndale’s BA in Biblical Studies and Theology will stretch and grow you both academically and spiritually, all within a supportive community. Actively pursue the hard questions of the Bible, theology and life as you are challenged by professors and peers from different backgrounds. Graduates from this program are building and serving in dynamic ministries that stem from the solid biblical and theological foundation they received during their studies.

Our BA course focuses on the core disciplines of theology, biblical studies, leadership and mission. There is a choice of two tracks, Biblical & Pastoral Theology or Theology & Missional Leadership. The course is aimed at equipping emerging church and mission workers, volunteers, ordinary church members and any prospective student to better appreciate the origins, development and application of the Christian message within a variety of cultural settings and learn a selection of basic ministry skills.

The Christian Studies major is designed to provide students who have completed an Associate of Arts degree from regionally accredited educational institutions with an opportunity for ministerial training on the baccalaureate level and prepare them for the church-related ministry various types and for seminary or graduate school.
