The major in Asian and Asian American studies offers three tracks: Asian American and diaspora studies, Asia comparative, and South Asia.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is Otago's most flexible undergraduate degree Program, enabling students to study from a selection of more than 40 arts and social science subjects, as well as papers offered elsewhere in the University. The Asian Studies Program offers an interdisciplinary and global approach to examining the multiple facets of cultures, traditions, and contemporary realities of Asian countries and peoples. Asian Studies courses are taught by Skidmore faculty from various departments and programs with research expertise across Asia. The program offers an extraordinary breadth of classes from the social sciences, humanities, and visual and performing arts exploring topics such as political histories, development and economy, war and peace, language and literature, music, art history, philosophical and religious traditions, ecologies and environmentalism, and pop culture.

North Central’s East Asian Studies program supports students through its committed faculty, well-established language curricula, and wide range of short- and long-term study abroad options.

As a student in the Asian Studies BA program at UMass Boston, you will acquire a deep understanding of the rich cultural, historical, and linguistic diversity of Asia. Asian Studies is the interdisciplinary study of Asia – its people and cultures, its policy and history, its language and art, and more. As an Asian Studies minor at Mercer University, you will explore the culture, history, politics, people, and beliefs of the Asian culture. You will be challenged and stretched by our curriculum, and you will discover the mysteries of Asia. To fully immerse yourself in the Asian culture, we encourage you to sign up for a study abroad experience. You will witness the information in your textbook come to life, and you will earn three credit hours toward your Asian Studies minor. Students are encouraged to take advantage of Mercer's Chinese Language and Culture Study Abroad Program at Nanjing University.
