Studio time is central to this course. You’ll develop your skills in our extensive studio facilities, which include workshops and computer-modelling software. As part of this course in BA (Hons) Architecture, you’ll: Study a wide range of topics – from studio design and model-making to art, history and culture

The programme provides a thorough grounding in the subject of architecture, including a portfolio of design, technical and theoretical courses covering all aspects of architectural theory and practice. The course has been designed with reference to the RIBA criteria, providing students with a well-rounded and internationally respected curriculum. Students will work across technical and humanities disciplines, testing the knowledge and skills from these courses through a series of core design projects taught in a studio environment (approx 50% of courses). The course provides students with the key analytical and practical skills and knowledge required to attain the RIBA Part 1 level, the first step towards formal Chartership as an architect (course accreditation pending).

Our Architecture program aims to provide students with the skills and specialized knowledge necessary to apply creative and responsible solutions in the field of architecture. The program assists students in understanding their role and responsibility as architects in any given physical and cultural context, whether that be local or international.

The BA in Architecture at VIZJA University is a four-year full-time programme (8 semesters) taught in English or Polish. It blends creative studio work with solid technical foundations—spatial composition, building design, construction basics, sustainable solutions and urban planning.

Architecture is a profession, and this course is an integral part of a sequence of steps – RIBA parts 1, 2 and 3 - that leads to entry into it. Criteria for entry to the UK Register of Architects are prescribed by the Architects Registration Board (ARB). The ARB and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) have agreed to hold the criteria in the common and successful completion of this Honours Degree course gives Part 1 exemption. In addition to this, the RIBA has introduced new Themes and Values for Architectural Education, which include a further focus on climate literacy, health and life safety, ethical practice, and research literacy. The modules in the course work within this framework provide a coherent balance of intellectual and practical skills, as well as facilitate various avenues to develop students' transferable and digital skills for a wide range of employment.

The technical skills, design work and professional experience you gain on this course will see you take your first steps to becoming an architect, or pursuing a career in areas such as urban planning, property development, construction or asset management.

Grounded in environmental design, the Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Design (BA-ARH-D) degree provides a strong undergraduate education while allowing the student to experience and gain skills in architectural design, art, architectural, and urban history and theory, fundamentals of sustainability, materials, building construction and structures, as well as advanced design representation tools.
