The Master in Aviation Industry Management and Operations (Master AvIMO) is a professional Master's Degree programme delivered by Sapienza University of Rome at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMA), a distinguished world-renowned academic institution with excellence in the aviation industry. The development and growing use of Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems (SAPR) - commonly, drones - in many application and research areas requires extensive training. 400 hours of lessons and design laboratory 250 hours of training internships in companies in the sector or institutional bodies. The 1st level University Master - organized by the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and by ENAC, the National Civil Aviation Authority with the participation of sector bodies and companies - trains drone designers, specialists in processes and based services on SAPR. Two scholarships are available to fully cover the course provided by Telespazio. Scholarships are awarded mainly on a meritocratic basis, based on the CVs received which will be assessed by a specific commission. Those enrolled who will obtain the Master degree and pass the practical skill test with ENAC examiner, will be contextually issued by a Training center authorized by ENAC and agreed with the Master the APR pilot certificate (Remote Piloted Aircraft).

This Master’s degree in Aerospace engineering program provides key skills to fulfill management, R&D, and production roles in the aerospace industry and in the many industries that provide services or supply components to it. The program offers both strong theoretical courses and applied research-oriented teachings, preparing students to develop advanced technologies for the society of the future. Students may choose one of the two curricula provided within the programme, focusing respectively on Space and Aeronautics technologies.

The program provides a preparation particularly focused on issues of design, operation and maintenance of aircraft and their onboard systems.

The aerospace engineering laboratory of Kore in Enna is unique in Europe. In fact, no other university has two flight simulators, one of which is full-motion with a very high level of realism. In it research is carried out on the human factor in piloting, real civilian and military pilots are trained, both from Italy and many other countries.

The course is organized to offer its students the choice among three tracks: Aerospace Design, Aerospace Technology, and Aerospace Systems each providing a high level of interdisciplinary teaching ensured by topics common to all tracks and related to: material sciences and technologies, energetic systems and related environmental impact, mechanical, management and electrical engineering disciplines, automation and information engineering.
