7 On-Campus Skills, Education and Professional Development Associate of Science Programs

Jamestown Community College’s Life Sciences associate degree provides a strong foundation in biological and chemical principles, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking skills. This program prepares graduates for transfer to four-year institutions or entry-level careers in life science fields by fostering a deep understanding of the natural world, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting laboratory experience.

The Associate of Science degree will provide you with the academic knowledge and practical skills needed to successfully transfer to a 4-year college or university to earn your bachelor's degree. The coursework prepares you for many different areas of study, emphasizing math and sciences.

The Early Childhood Education program is designed to meet the needs of individuals planning a career working with preschool aged children and/or are currently working with preschool aged children.

Nurture young children in their first steps of life and education. When you earn an associate degree in Early Childhood Education at Jamestown Community College, you’ll be able to work in the education field with children from birth through grade 2. You can also pursue your bachelor’s degree and become a public school teacher.

Teach future generations of students. When you earn an associate degree in Childhood Education at Jamestown Community College, you’ll be able to work in the education field with children in grades 1-6. You can also pursue your bachelor’s degree and become a public school teacher.

Change lives in your classroom and community. When you earn an associate degree in Adolescence Education at Jamestown Community College, you’ll be able to work in the education field with adolescents in grades 7-12. You can also pursue your bachelor’s degree and become a public school teacher.

Students completing this program will be able to demonstrate understanding of how the major groups of living organisms are related to each other and of their adaptations for survival.
