Urban design is a practice intended to help shape cities and towns while establishing and implementing plans to allow for future growth. Common areas of study for students of urban design include architectural design, urban planning, highway engineering and landscape design.

An Associate of Arts degree is the stepping-stone for many students. After focusing on a field of study for two years at a vocational, technical, or community college, students can go onto finding better careers or earning a higher degree.
