4 International Business and Global Trade Associate of Arts Programs

The International Business program at Santa Barbara City College provides an introduction to the central aspects of international business, exclusive of any particular geographic emphasis. Topics include the economic and cultural environments in which we operate; how international activities alter the strategies for success in management tasks of planning, marketing, finance, management, law, and personnel; and the principles associated with the international exchange of goods, services, and investments. This program provides hands-on experience investigating market potential. It also prepares a student for transfer to a four-year institution. Students interested in transferring to four-year institutions should meet with a faculty advisor or counselor for transfer information.

An Associate degree in Business Administration enables graduates to apply critical thinking skills to real-world business problems, develop a global mindset, and think strategically in complex and diverse settings. This positions Business Administration students for admission and successful transfer to highly-competitive Bachelor programs and their future professions and workplaces.

An Associate of Arts degree with a Business emphasis is designed for students who plan to transfer to a business program at a Colorado four-year college/university.

The International Affairs emphasis provides students with various foundational courses in the field of international affairs. The student completes the first two years of requirements leading toward a baccalaureate degree.
