TCC’s Interdisciplinary Writing Studies Specialization of the Associate of Arts (DTA) degree provides well-rounded academic preparation, real-world writing experience, and work-related skills for transfer to a wide variety of four-year college or university programs and for entry into the workforce. This specialization is also a great choice for students who know they want to transfer but haven’t yet decided exactly what they want to do with their lives. It is especially beneficial to students planning to transfer to the University of Washington Tacoma, due to UWT’s emphasis on interdisciplinary studies.

The Associate of Arts degree at LaSalle College Vancouver prepares graduates for further study in a Faculty of Arts bachelor’s degree program at one of British Columbia’s universities. The program provides students a comprehensive liberal arts education in a supportive and nurturing learning environment and supports the development of strong critical thinking, communication, and research skills sought after by employers. Students can be expected to complete the program in 1 to 2 years.

The Associate of Arts (AA) degree prepares students for life as educated people and lays a solid foundation for further study. This two-year, 60-credit (20-course) undergraduate program is equivalent to the first two years of a four-year degree in the Arts. It prepares students to transfer to research or teaching universities to complete a bachelor’s degree or serves as a credential to enter the labour market.

This 60-hour sequence of courses is designed to fulfill the general requirements of the first two years of study for a four-year degree. Of the courses listed below, 46 hours are required, but students may choose 14 additional hours from the same list as electives to complete the 60 hours required for the degree. Students wishing to transfer should ask for a transfer guide from the college or university where they plan to pursue their baccalaureate. Students may earn certificates and degrees from more than one program in an academic year, but only the highest certificate or degree in any program will be awarded.
