This two-year pathway is designed for students that wish to obtain an Associate of Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement degree with a concentration in Drama. The courses in this pathway focus on the general study of dramatic works and their performance. Students will study major works of dramatic literature, dramatic styles and types, musical theater, schools of dance, and the principles of organizing and producing full live or filmed productions.

The Drama curriculum is designed for students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree with a major in theater or a pre-professional degree in law. The degree plan provides a Core Curriculum that will transfer to any state-supported college or university in Texas.

An education in speech and drama not only includes some of the most exciting courses at a college campus, but also opens up an amazing number of career doors.

The theatre department offers a well-rounded program of courses that fulfil most lower-division requirements of four-year colleges and universities. MC theatre students have transferred successfully to the University of California system, the California State University system, and private colleges.
