They use the principles of math, science, and engineering to design and build new products or to develop large-scale systems such as transportation networks or water treatment plants. Engineering problems usually involve teams of people, so engineers must work well with others and communicate effectively. The Associate in Science in Engineering is designed to prepare students for transfer to engineering programs at four-year universities. Upon completion of the Associate in Science in Engineering, students will possess the knowledge and skills required for upper-division coursework in Engineering.

The Associate in Science in Computer Information Systems is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required for a variety of positions in the field of computer information technology. The program includes foundation courses in computer information systems and a wide range of skill-builder courses in current topics of technology.

The Associate in Science in Computer Networking Technology prepares students to design, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot networks of different sizes. Students learn a diverse array of skills, including specification preparation, network management, network design, equipment and system sales, and software development.

The Associate in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics for Transfer introduces students to the principles and methodologies used in the study of nutrition and dietetics. Students will acquire the foundational knowledge necessary to pursue a baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics. To earn an Associate of Science in Nutrition for Transfer degree, a student must complete 60 semester units that are eligible for transfer to the CSU system that consists of the IGETC pattern or CSU GE breadth and a major of 18 units more.

Mechatronic technology is an interdisciplinary field that combines the study of mechanics, electronics, automation, and computers. The program includes a wide range of skill-builder courses. The Associate in Science in Mechatronic Technology is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required for a variety of positions in various industries.

The Associate in Science in Business is a two-year program designed for students who intend to seek employment directly after completion. The curriculum provides essential knowledge and skills in the financial management and marketing facets of the business. Students can pursue their interest in several specialized areas of business (global business, human resources management, project management, and business computing) through their choice of business electives.

The Associate in Science in Physics for Transfer (AS-T in Physics) is designed to provide a clear pathway to a CSU institution for students who plan to transfer and complete a CSU major or baccalaureate degree in Physics. The Associate in Science in Physics for Transfer (AS-T in Physics) provides a foundation in physics and mathematics for students planning to transfer into a baccalaureate program in physics or physics education. Successful completion of the program guarantees the student acceptance to a local California State University to pursue a baccalaureate degree in Physics or a related field.

The Associate in Science in Biological Sciences is designed for students interested in acquiring a solid foundation in basic biology, evolutionary theory, and the scientific method. This program is appropriate for students seeking entry-level positions in the life sciences.

The Human Biology Associate in Science degree provides a solid foundation in the biological sciences for students who are seeking entry to nursing and related health occupations. Completion of this degree meets all Biology and Chemistry prerequisites for admission to the LVN and LVN-RN programs and fulfills many of the lower-division requirements for a variety of baccalaureate degrees in Health Sciences. This degree is not intended for pre-medical, pre-dental, or pre-pharmacy students (see A.S. or AS-T in Biological Sciences instead).

The Associate in Science in Graphic Design provides opportunities for students to develop fluency in contemporary graphic design issues and techniques. The program's emphasis is on increasing the student's creative problem-solving abilities along with an introduction to design techniques and principles to provide the basic skills necessary to enter many growing professional fields. The student also learns software skills used to produce graphic design deliverables for clients. Opportunities exist in advertising, print publishing, web publishing, mobile and desktop application design, and corporate communication.

The Culinary Arts Associates in Science is an intentional and specific expansion of the Hospitality Management program at Mission College. Students gain a solid command of traditional and modern food preparation, presentation, and service practices common throughout the industry. Menu planning cost control and maintaining a safe, fair, and equitable working environment are reinforced. A complete chef’s uniform is required.
