Our Associate in Applied Science degree is designed for students interested in areas such as systems security analysis, countermeasures, cloud-based computing and systems, and platforms and network technologies.

The Engineering Technology A.S. Degree Program at Daytona State College prepares students for employment or provides additional training for persons employed in the highly evolving manufacturing (embedded with new technology) and high-technology industries. The Engineering Technology Associate in Science is fully transferable to four-year BSET degree-granting institutions.

The Environmental Science Technology, A.S. program focuses on environmental compliance and protection of our land and water at the federal, state, and local levels. Under the direction of an environmental scientist, graduates will be expected to perform physical, chemical, and biological sampling in the field.

The Computer Engineering Technology, A.S. Program provides a solid foundation in the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer systems, computer networks, robotics, and simulation technology. The program provides a general electronics background and prepares students to pass the A+ Certification Examination.

The Computer Programming and Analysis (Software Engineering Technology) A.S. Program provides a solid foundation in computer programming. Students develop analytical skills in designing, developing, writing, and maintaining computer programs in a variety of industry-relevant coding languages. Students also learn the use of the latest technologies and multiple integrated development platforms in the program.

The Photographic Technology, AS program offers the technical instruction and theoretical knowledge in photography to assist graduates in successfully entering the commercial, editorial, advertising, fine arts, and photo technology fields. Coursework covers digital photography and videography as well as the medium’s history and aesthetics to prepare photographers as visual communicators.

This limited access program is designed to provide graduates of certificate and registered apprenticeship programs additional technical and supervisory skills while enhancing the basic general education skills necessary for placement in entry-level management positions. With Operations Management Technology, A.S. students can advance in their field and elevate their overall performance.

In this program, you’ll learn to repair, maintain, and help design pneumatics (compressed air) and hydraulics (pressurized oil) systems. As a graduate of the program, you’ll be ready to take the test to become nationally certified by the Fluid Power Society.

In this program, you will learn to build, evaluate, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair electronic devices, from the component level to the system level. The program offers four pathways: Applications, Avionics, Mechatronics, and Biomedical Equipment.

In this program, you’ll complete the requirements of the freshman and sophomore years of most engineering programs at a university, studying calculus, physics, and chemistry. This pre-major program is designed to prepare you to transfer at the junior level into an engineering program at a four-year college or university.

In this program, you’ll learn to maintain, test, repair, and/or replace complex electrical systems and controls found in modern industrial plants and large commercial buildings. The program includes hands-on training in motors, generators, robotics, power distribution, and other electrical systems.

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Information Technology Systems Administration trains students, using industry-based skill standards. Students will design, implement, secure, and support Microsoft, Unix/Linux, and other industry-standard networks, client, and server systems. Students will learn about the fundamental business context where IT systems function including business communication skills. Classroom instruction and practical experiences are combined into a course of study that provides students with broad exposure to the principles of network management and basic a basic understanding of the current information technology business environment.

The Associate in Applied Science-Transfer (AAS-T) degree in Information Technology Systems Administration trains students, using industry-based skill standards. Students will design, implement, secure, and support Microsoft, Unix/Linux, and other industry-standard networks, client, and server systems. Students will learn about the fundamental business context where IT systems function including business communication skills. The Associate of Science (Computer Science) Degree is a two-year undergraduate degree and will enhance skills as well as provide experiences and aptitudes in the following areas: Knowledge in computer Science; Familiarity with the applications of Computer Science; Ability to apply quantitative skills to Computer Science; Ability to analyze and interpret data. Upon completion of the Associate of Science (Computer Science) Degree program, students may choose to enter the workforce or continue their undergraduate studies.
