The Cybersecurity and Computer Forensics program prepares students for entry-level employment in cybersecurity and computer forensics careers including cyber incident and response, vulnerability detection and assessment analysis, computer forensic analyst, and computer forensics investigator.

An Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Coding and Billing Systems prepares individuals for a career in the health care industry as coding and billing specialists. Students will gain knowledge in health record maintenance, medical insurance processes, and healthcare classification systems. Students will also learn computer application skills, interpersonal coding, and billing procedures.

Engineering Technology is the powerhouse department that combines training in composites manufacturing and mechatronics. Classes introduce students to materials science, composite materials, engineering design, mechatronics, and automation technology. Gain experience in hands-on state-of-the-art labs equipped with 3D printers, 3D scanners, injection molders, and robotic arms, along with equipment to test, construct, design, and build items both large and small. Capstone projects include fan-powered, radio-controlled robotic cars with printed and composite parts.

Students will design, implement, secure, and support Microsoft, Unix/Linux, and other industry-standard networks, client, and server systems. Students will learn about the fundamental business context where IT systems function including business communication skills. Classroom instruction and practical experiences are combined into a course of study that provides students with broad exposure to the principles of network management and basic a basic understanding of the current information technology business environment.

Foundation classes cover basic woodworking, foundations framing, roof systems and alternative energy. Information Technology prepares students for a wide range of employment opportunities in the design, implementation, and security of Internetworking solutions for small, medium, and large enterprises. Positions involving technical support for small computer system hardware and software implementations embedded in local and wide area networks are supported through the use of the CompTIA, Microsoft, and network offerings. Major elements of this course of study include microcomputer theory, data communications, operating systems, security fundamentals including virus eradication, systems hardware, and software analysis, virtualization, troubleshooting techniques, use of computer analysis hardware, and application of all of these elements in the work setting. This program has physical requirements that may affect the student’s ability to perform in this field.

The Associate of Science in Computer Engineering is designed for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree program at a four-year college or university. Entry into many engineering programs is competitive, and students are urged to work closely with TCC advisors and university advisors to ensure all entry requirements are met. The first two years of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering can be completed at TCC. Students can earn an associate degree to transfer to a Washington state public university.
