16 Music, Sound and Creative Technologies Associate of Applied Science Programs

This program explores digital audio production, analog and digital recording, live sound engineering, sound design, and other areas of the field. You'll study studio recording and live-sound techniques, acoustics, microphones, mixing boards, signal processing, and digital audio software.

The Film and Sound Design program offers an occupational degree that immerses college students in the world and industry of film and sound design. IPR’s condensed program allows students to earn a multi-skill, multi-functional Occupational Associate of Applied Science Degree in as little as two years. Film and sound design program students learn hands-on, entry-level skills in every aspect of the film business: recording, post-production, and design. Work as a part of a team to produce your own film- from concept and storyboard, to production and editing – you’ll graduate with a portfolio of work to showcase your creativity and launch your career in the exciting Film Industry.

Graduates of the Graphic Design program get to work when they leave us. We concentrate on skills for immediate entry into the job market. Our curriculum is strong on graphic design fundamentals, yet explores and adapts to emerging communication technologies. We pride ourselves in keeping our curriculum current with changes and developments on an annual basis.

The associate degree curriculum is designed to help students hone their music skills and develop their business skills to be successful in building and maintaining a self-managed career in the music industry. Courses in music and in general business subjects provide opportunities for students who are considering starting a career in the music business, as well as for students who are already working in the industry but want to improve their chances for success.

The Associate of Science in Music Production Degree Program provides an education track for individuals who would like to expand their passion for music into the production of music for diverse media applications using today’s latest digital technology. The demand for original music content in all media continues to increase as the entertainment industry expands the use of online delivery of content and multi-media programming.

The Associate of Applies Science in Audio Production and Live Sound program offers a degree designed to train producer engineers who are entrepreneurs, musically and technically creative, and proficient in modern recording technology and techniques. In our school’s advanced classes, students hone their creative and technical skills while working with advanced recording, editing technology, mixing and mastering techniques, song arrangement, and the operation and planning of events and corporate productions.

The Recording Technology Associate Degree Program is designed to prepare the student for transfer to institutions offering a bachelor’s degree in Recording Engineering or for apprenticeships at recording studios and various media venues. The program will teach the student the fundamentals and techniques relative to live concert and studio recording.

This two-year program provides an Associate’s Degree in Music. Students may take this major to acquire a diploma in two years and then consider further studies, such as the BS in Music in Worship. Graduates of this program will also increase their opportunities for employment in music-related fields music by virtue of having this valuable diploma.

The department of Music and Art offers the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree program in Music with specializations in Music Studies, Music Education or Music Performance. Students will learn the fundamentals of music, as well as more specialized topics in music education and music performance.

The Music and Technology Associate Degree: Guitar Concentration offers the intermediate guitar student a fully immersive, nonstop music atmosphere.
