13 Medical Assisting Associate of Applied Science Programs

The Associate of Applied Sciences in Medical Assisting (AASMA) was designed to meet the demands of a continuously evolving healthcare market. By intensifying and expanding the training, the AASMA Graduate will be competent not only as a Medical Assistant, but also in the areas of Phlebotomy, Electrocardiography, and advanced Patient Care.

Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) who have achieved certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) are multi-skilled Allied Health Professionals specifically educated and cross-trained to perform a broad scope of BOTH administrative and clinical duties within a medical facility. The demand for CMAs (AAMA) is evidenced by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics' projection that medical assisting is one of the fastest growing professions, increasing by more than 18% (much faster than average) through the year 2030.

In this program, you will learn about scheduling and receiving patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, medical transcription, and managing practice finances.

Trained medical office personnel in doctors’ offices, clinics, and hospitals are vital! The Administrative Medical Assistant program provides advanced-level training to meet the demand. Students receive significant instruction through medical field experience with cooperating local medical facilities.

Our 16-month Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting degree gives students the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in health care. The program is both affordable and flexible. Students complete a mix of online and face-to-face courses on the campus of Cincinnati's most preferred hospital.

Fox College Medical Assisting graduates receive hands-on training in simulated medical laboratory classrooms. Each lab is equipped with the same types of medical equipment used in physicians' offices.

Medical assistants are multi-skilled allied health professionals specifically trained to work in ambulatory settings, such as physicians’ offices, clinics, and group practices, performing administrative and clinical procedures. This program will prepare competent entry-level medical assistants in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behaviour) learning domains.

The Medical Assistant program is designed to prepare the student with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to build a successful career as a competent medical assistant or patient care assistant within the healthcare community. The program prepares the student to work in both the clinic and administrative areas in a physician's office, hospital, or personal health care facility.

The Medical Laboratory Technician program prepares men and women to work under the supervision of the medical laboratory scientist, pathologist, or another qualified physician in a medical laboratory. A technician performs tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
