TCC’s Associate of Science in Civil and Mechanical Engineering Degree is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed to provide a pathway for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Students planning to transfer to Environmental, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering should also follow this pathway. Mechanical Engineers design across multiple industries, including aircraft, robotics, medical devices, and power systems.

The Engineering with Emphasis in Mechanical Engineering Applications AS degree prepares graduates for career and transfer. Relevant positions include engineering technician, CAD technician, maintenance technician, facilities manager, manufacturing technician, operations technician, lab technician, technical sales, and other endeavors related to mechanical components and systems. The program emphasizes how things work, and the role technicians can play in the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of mechanical devices. Completion of this degree may facilitate transfer into B.S. programs in Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology or other related Mechanical Engineering Technology programs.

TCC’s Associate of Science in Materials Science and Manufacturing Engineering Degree is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed to provide a pathway for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering. After completing the degree courses, the student must apply to graduate with the AS MRP degree. Manufacturing Engineers design the process to turn raw materials into the final product.

The Associate in Science (AS-T) transfer degree is designed to prepare mechanical, civil, aeronautical, and industrial engineering majors for transfer to a four-year institution with junior standing. The AS-T transfer degree will generally provide the transferring student with at least 110 credits upon entry to a four-year institution. This transfer degree will satisfy some, but not all, of the general education requirements at the receiving institution. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 120 credits as outlined.

Mechatronic technology is an interdisciplinary field that combines the study of mechanics, electronics, automation, and computers. The program includes a wide range of skill-builder courses. The Associate in Science in Mechatronic Technology is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required for a variety of positions in various industries.

A.S. Degree Marine Diving Technician program trains professional commercial divers and technicians. The program is open to part-time and full-time students for both diving and non-diving-related coursework. The training curriculum includes instruction in all phases of commercial diving, hyperbaric medicine, marine science, boating, bell/saturation diving emergency medicine, and remote-operated vehicles (ROVs) to name but a few. Teamwork and Safety are the prime emphases of marine technician training. Students completing the full Associate in Science program are also eligible for industry certifications which are required for employment. The A.S. degree increases the diversity of career paths and employability of graduates within the marine industry. A.S. degree students train in marine technology and supplement their skills with specialized technology classes and general education requirements.

This pathway is designed to meet Associate in Science Track 2 degree requirements, emphasizing mechanical, industrial, & aeronautical engineering. This pre-major pathway is designed to prepare you to transfer at the junior-level into a related engineering program at a four-year college or university.

The Mechanical Technology program at Clinton Community College is designed to prepare students for employment in the manufacturing industries. Students who successfully complete this two-year program will be awarded the degree of Associate in Applied Science (AAS). Students may enter the program directly from high school or by transferring from another college or university.

The mechatronics technology program focuses on the integration of mechanical, electrical (electronics), fluid power (hydraulics or pneumatics), and computer technologies to control machine movements. The students’ studies begin with courses in mechanics, sensors, basic electronics, pneumatics, control logic, and robot programming and control.

Mechatronics courses combine various disciplines to teach you a holistic approach to developing solutions for engineering applications. You will be able to add to your skillset practical knowledge in the integration of electrical systems, fluid power, electronics, computer controls, PLCs, instrumentation, robotics, and information technology.

The Automotive Manufacturing program prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to identify and resolve production problems in the manufacture of products.

The Aircraft Structural Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) is a degree program that emphasizes aircraft structural theory and practical application necessary for successful employment in the field.
