The Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technology degree program is designed to enable graduates to enter various fields of the industry after completing two years of study. Graduates may also elect to continue their education in the four-year Industrial Technology Program. Graduates of the two-year curriculum will be awarded the degree of Associate of Applied Science.

Engineers design and create the future. They use the principles of math, science, and engineering to design and build new products or to develop large-scale systems such as transportation networks or water treatment plants. Engineering problems usually involve teams of people, so engineers must work well with others and communicate effectively. The Associate in Science in Engineering is designed to prepare students for transfer to engineering programs at four-year universities. Upon completion of the Associate in Science in Engineering, students will possess the knowledge and skills required for upper-division coursework in Engineering.

TCC’s Associate of Science in Materials Science and Manufacturing Engineering Degree is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed to provide a pathway for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering. After completing the degree courses, the student must apply to graduate with the AS MRP degree. Materials Science Engineers design new materials with specific properties, and investigate material failures.

The Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering is a state-recognized Major Related Program (MRP) designed for students who plan to transfer to a Bachelor of Science degree program at a four-year college or university. Entry into many engineering programs is competitive, and students are urged to work closely with TCC advisors and university advisors to ensure all entry requirements are met. The first two years of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering can be completed at TCC. Students can earn an associate degree to transfer to a Washington state public university.

Students planning to transfer to Environmental, Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering should also follow this pathway. Environmental Engineers design solutions to local and worldwide environmental issues (often a subset of Civil Engineers).

Mechanical Engineers design across multiple industries, including aircraft, robotics, medical devices, and power systems.

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology Program is designed to assist students in gaining the necessary skills and abilities to work in a mechanical environment. Students will learn the basic preventative maintenance procedures for gasoline engines, brake systems, transmission, electrical systems, transaxles, diagnostic equipment, steering, and suspension.

The Associate of Applied Science in Diesel Technology Program is designed to assist students in gaining the necessary skills and abilities to work in a diesel-mechanical environment. Students will learn the basic preventative maintenance procedures for medium and large engines, as well as diesel engine tractors and tractor-trailers.
