46 Cybersecurity Associate of Applied Science Programs

This program will provide students with a strong foundation needed in Cyber Defense. The program will focus on established methodologies in cyber defense. It will provide students with applicable skills in Windows and Linux operating systems security and administration, secure network design and implementation, web security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, risk assessment, management and mitigation techniques, and security policy/standards used to appropriately defend the various domains of information security to control access and reduce organizational risk.

Increased cybersecurity threats and new homeland security policies have produced a growing national demand for cybersecurity professionals with knowledge of cybersecurity, ethical hacking, intrusion testing, vulnerability assessment, and computer forensics. In addition, the growth of universal and mobile computing requires new approaches to information security and the protection of information systems from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. The Cybersecurity and Computer Forensics program prepares students for entry-level employment in cybersecurity and computer forensics careers including cyber incident and response, vulnerability detection and assessment analysis, computer forensic analyst, and computer forensics investigator.

The Associate of Applied Science in Cyber Security degree is designed to prepare students for various entry-level technician opportunities in the information security sector with emphasis on cyber security in government, private sector, and law enforcement agencies. The program consists of four emphasis tracks leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree. Students may specialize in Cyber Defense, Information Assurance, Network Security Administration, or System Security Administration.

The Associate of Science Degree in Cyber Security builds on the Certificate of Achievement, Cyber Security Associate. The additional courses provide basic skills for the computer science major.

The AAS in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy prepares students for entry-level positions in cyber security and data privacy. Graduates will be prepared to become leaders in cybersecurity, with a solid understanding of security technology and privacy laws, preparing them to make knowledgeable and responsible decisions. The program also offers students a transfer option to four-year institutions.

The Cybersecurity associate degree prepares students for jobs protecting computer systems and networks against cyber threats such as viruses, spyware, and intrusion by hackers. These professionals design, install, and manage network control tools and other security mechanisms that protect computer systems from unauthorized access or data loss.
