This program is designed to prepare students seeking employment in business management and managerial levels of accounting. Students will receive instruction to gain mastery of the principles, methods, and procedures of accounting, students will gain a broad understanding and appreciation for other elements of management such as finance, communications, economics, and business law.

In this program, you’ll study the basic principles of business management and learn about sales, marketing, leadership, human resources and social media. Depending on your interests and career goals, you’ll choose an area of emphasis in marketing, small business management, social media marketing, or general business.

The BTM Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is a two-year degree providing in-depth knowledge for organizing, managing, and automating information using current business, applied IT, and communications skills.

The degree plan includes up to 36 credit hours of academic courses. Under the current inverted Bachelor of Applied Science degree plan at Lamar University, 24 credit hours of technical courses and all academic classes should transfer to a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science degree. Furthermore, the 36 units in academic courses should transfer to any four-year public college or university in the state of Texas.

This pathway meets requirements for the Associate in Business-DTA (AB-DTA) degree. It is intended to allow you to transfer to a four-year university or college Business Bachelor's degree program with your first two years of schooling completed. Completion of your bachelor's degree opens doors to a variety of careers in sectors of business, government, and non-profit work.

The Business Office Management program at Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) offers students the opportunity to earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree and Career Certificate. NW-SCC prepares students for a career in a professional office environment.

The degree program enables students to acquire a foundation in the basics of accounting, management, marketing, business communication, business law and finance. learn to apply diverse skills such as critical thinking, organization, problem-solving and professionalism to the business world. Through exploration and analysis of relevant business models, students explore ways of solving problems that commonly arise in business settings from small businesses to the corporate arena. Students complete 90 credits, resulting in a General Business AAS.
