Biomanufacturing is a term that refers to the production, isolation, and purification of medicines made by pharmaceutical companies. It also includes any manufacturing that uses cells to make the product, like food companies making artificial meat. This is an exciting and expanding new field. Here at QVCC, we offer a wide variety of introductory and secondary level biology courses to include anatomy and physiology and microbiology, and an associate degree program in Technology Studies focusing on Biomolecular Science.

An Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology prepares individuals for a career in the health care industry as Medical Laboratory Technicians. These laboratory professionals assist in the coordination of clinical laboratory activities, including timely and cost-effective testing of patient samples and lab equipment maintenance.

The Forensic Science curriculum is designed to prepare students for transfer into a Forensic Science program at other institutions to complete their professional education.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography, often called Ultrasound, uses high-frequency waves to generate images of different organs and blood vessels inside the body.

Diagnostic medical sonographers are a critical part of the health care team. They help clinicians diagnose illnesses using ultrasound to image organs, tissue and blood flow inside the body.

This associate degree program in Bioengineering is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the bioengineering industry, such as those in local, national laboratories. Students will develop a strong foundation in the sciences (chemistry, biology, physics) and engineering.

The Radiography cooperative program between JFK Muhlenberg Snyder School of Radiography and Union County College offers the advantage of a hospital-based radiography program coupled with college-based academic courses.

Medical laboratory workers perform general tests in all laboratory areas: blood banking, clinical chemistry, haematology, immunology, microbiology, and urinalysis. They work with medical technologists to hunt for clues to the absence, presence, extent, and causes of diseases.

This program prepares students for a career in diagnostic radiology as a radiographer. A radiographer is a technologist who produces images of the human body to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases. The program curriculum includes a series of courses offered in conjunction with individualized laboratory work and extensive clinical experience in local hospitals. Upon completion of the program, the student will receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Radiography and is eligible to take the national registry examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

The Medical Laboratory Technician program prepares men and women to work under the supervision of the medical laboratory scientist, pathologist, or another qualified physician in a medical laboratory. A technician performs tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

The Biotechnology curriculum, which has emerged from molecular biology and chemical engineering, is designed to meet the increasing demands for skilled laboratory technicians in various fields of biological and chemical technology.

The student receives six hundred seventy-five (675) hours of didactic training and one thousand (1000) hours of clinical education, allowing them to apply the lecture topics to practical use.
