The Visual Communications Department emphasizes a variety of creative and technical skills in preparing students for a career in advertising, publishing, and public relations. The 2-year Associate of Technical Arts (ATA) degree also includes fundamental business practices which empower students to work in the gig economy as a freelancer and/or as part of a company. Edmonds College offers one of the longest-running and most well-known horticulture programs in Western Washington. For more than 50 years, the Horticulture Department has been providing top-quality graduates to the landscape and nursery industry. Our instructors are experienced horticulture professionals. All students receive training in the foundations of horticulture science such as botany, plant identification, and soil science. Specialty areas include landscape design, nursery, and greenhouse management, sustainable landscape management, and urban agriculture.

Located just north of Seattle, the Edmonds Community College Culinary Arts program is a full-time program that provides hands-on training and skills to begin work, or refine your skills, in the restaurant industry. The program’s curriculum is built around running a restaurant on campus, The College Cafe. Students participate in each station in the restaurant learning classical cooking techniques, its modern application, and global cuisines. Students also have classroom-based coursework that explores cooking methodology, managing restaurants, and culinary aspects of agriculture, health and nutrition.

Train to become an expert travel consultant, cruise or tour agent, tour guide, hotel staff member, or airline reservation and ticket agent.
